Set the stage for your Mardis Gras Party with Mardis Gras Party Decorations!

Mardi Gras is all about partying and celebrating and having fun!  If you decide to have your own Mardis Gras Party, you’ll need to be well prepared.  To begin with, you need to make sure that you concentrate on the official Mardi Gras colors–deep purple, forest green and gold.  You’ll need to send out party invitations to all you friends so that they can make plans to attend.   Then you’ll need to make sure your home is decorated properly for the festivities.  Encourage your guests to dress up in Mardi Gras Costumes–the wilder the better!  There is a wide selection of costumes that are appropriate for Mardi Gras, i.e. King and Queen costumes, Clown and Jester costumes, Pirate costumes, the list goes on and on.  You can make the party even more intriguing by encouraging your guests to wear Mardi Gras Masks so that their identity will be hidden for at least part of the night.

Next you need to think about decorating your house appropriately.  You can start off with lots of balloons, streamers and ribbons in those Mardi Gras colors.  Be sure to get plenty so you can decorate the whole house.  Hang the streamers and ribbons from the ceiling.  If you rent a helium tank, you can not only hang balloons from the ceiling, but you can also have some balloons floating freely throughout the house.

Another important tradition of Mardi Gras and a trinket you will need to have available for your party guests are Mardi Gras doubloons or medallions.  Doubloons or medallions are among the trinkets that are traditionally thrown to the crowd during a Mardi Gras Parade.  You’ll want to have a good supply of these assorted purple, green and gold coins with Mardi Gras masks printed on them.  These will make great souvenirs of your fabulous Mardi Gras party.
